Every page has a meta title and a meta description. Visitors do not see them on the page itself. They are what Google and other search engines show in the search results:
A good meta title
- Keep it under 70 characters.
- Put the most important words first.
- Say clearly what the page is about — for example About us.
- The name of your website is added at the end automatically (like | Acme in the example above) — do not write it yourself.
- Give every page its own title. No two pages should share one.
A good meta description
- Keep it under 155 characters.
- Write one or two sentences that make people want to click.
- Describe honestly what is on the page.
One per language
The meta title and description exist once per language. After you translate a page automatically, read them again and adjust them if needed.
