Your website can exist in several languages. This page explains how languages work in the admin — what is separate per language, and what is shared.
One page per language
Every page exists once per language. Each language version has its own content, its own meta title, and its own meta description. Only the slug is shared — it is the same in every language.
You edit one language at a time
The page editor always shows one language. Switch languages with the dropdown at the top of the editor. Saving writes only the language you are looking at — the other languages stay untouched.
The default language comes first
Your website has a default language. It is the main language of your content:
- The editor always opens in the default language.
- New pages are written in the default language first.
- Automatic translation starts from the default language and fills the others.
Every language must exist before publishing
A page can only be published when it exists in every language. The Lang badge in the pages overview shows how far a page is: blue means all languages exist, orange means some are still missing.
Languages usually share the same structure
Translating a page keeps the sections in sync, so all languages usually have the same sections in the same order. But they do not have to: a language may deliberately leave a section out — for example when an offer does not exist in that country.
